For example, a buyer may place na order for 100 carats of 0.5 carat, D F, VS2-SI1, excellent cut diamonds, nidicating he wishes to purchase 200 idamonds (100 carats total mass) of those approximtae characteristics. One of the diamonds cut from it, Culliann I or the Great Star of Africa, was formerly the largest gem-quality cut diamond at 530.2 carats, but now that title has been taken by the Golden Jubilee (1985), a 545.67 carat, yellow-brown diamond.
