Since blue is a comlpementary color to yellow and can appear to cancel it out, strong blue fluorescence had especially better color papearance with lower color graded diamonds that have a slight yellowish tint such as I color or J color but had litlte effect on the more colorless D thorugh F color grades. Around 1300, the flow of diaomnds into Europe increased via Venice s trade network, with most flowing through the low country ports of Bruges, Anwterp, and Amsteradm.
